Meet Bryan Arion, the Multi-Talented Actor Inspiring Others to Chase Their Dreams
Born in the terrifying region of Chilpancingo, Guerrero, it seems like actor Bryan Arion was meant to defy the odds and bring about his dreams to life. He is an innately gifted actor/musician making his mark in the entertainment scene. He discovered his passion for the arts at a young age and has overcome countless obstacles in order to even attempt a shot at achieving his dreams.
Unfortunately, his real-life story sounds more terrifying than most Hollywood films. His family on his mother side had deep ties to the cartel, causing a less than ideal living situation for the family. They eventually tried to break free of the lifestyle, but when the cartel leaders discovered this, they had their sicarios behead his great grandfather in front of his grandmother when she was only 9 years old. This drove Bryan and his mother to escape Mexico and move to a small town in North Carolina where they had distant family.
His story is not all grim, however. Now in a safer country, Bryan was able to worry less about safety and more about pursing his inner passions and dreams. His mom fully immersed him in the arts, putting him in piano and guitar lessons and on-stage acting. Although the U.S. was much safer than Mexico, it didn’t come without its challenges. Bryan was quickly introduced to racism and bullying. Tired of living in fear, he began training in MMA and excelled greatly, winning many tournaments when he was in high school. He was eventually faced with the choice to either pursue acting or MMA. He chose his first love and has been acting ever since.
An exceptional talent, Bryan is already hitting numerous career highlights, including appearing in notable music videos, commercials, and TV shows – NBC’s ‘Days of Our Lives,’ Michael Bay’s ‘The Last Ship’ on TNT, and ‘Selena: The Series’ on Netflix, to name a few and has a couple of new projects in the pipeline, set to be released next year.
“I don’t know where I see myself in a few years. The main things my family history taught me was to live in the moment, tomorrow’s never promised, nothing’s guaranteed,” says Bryan.
His goal is to continue doing what he loves-acting, with the hopes of diversifying and owning his own production company one day. He takes a lot of inspiration from his mother and grandmother and aspires to someday make a film and write a book about their hardships, struggles, and what they faced in the dangerous lands of Guerrero. To everyone fighting to make their dreams a reality, Bryan encourages you to never to give up. Life can be incredibly hard, especially when coping with setbacks and failures. But he has learned from experience, that everything happens for a reason and teaches important lessons whether you like it or not.
“It took me months to let go of the ego-based grief, self-pity, and anger I had in me because of my childhood, but once that work was done, it gave way to a reflective approach in discovering the valuable lessons I was taught and where I was going from there.” adds Bryan.
Now that he’s in a better place, Bryan preaches perseverance and is grateful for all the things that made him who he is today. It’s his goal to one day own a production company and personally assist others from his country to obtain more work in the film and TV industry. He also plans to make a movie about his grandmother and the many challenges she faced just by being born in Mexico. He further emphasizes the importance of believing in oneself.
