Did Bobby Brown Jr. die from tampered drugs? Inside his cause of death
It looks like a court case is going to be opened regarding the death of 28-year-old Bobby Brown Jr. The son of singer Bobby Brown was found dead in his Los Angeles home back in Nov. 2020. Now, in March 2021, the autopsy report on Bobby Brown Jr’s death has been released. With the release of the report, it looks like law enforcement has decided where to move forward in investigating the death.
What happened to Bobby Brown Jr? Will criminal charges be filed in the wake of his death? Here’s everything that you need to know about the latest tragedy to befall the Brown family.
No foul play
The autopsy report says that Bobby Brown Jr died from the combined effects of alcohol, cocaine and the powerful opioid fentanyl. His girlfriend, who saw him alive that morning, found him unresponsive on the floor of his bedroom. After finding him, she then called 911 who sent paramedics. The paramedics pronounced Bobby Brown Jr dead at the scene.
Bobby Brown Jr had a history of substance & alcohol abuse. No foul play is suspected in his death, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office. The investigative report also said that in the evening before he was found dead, Brown Jr had tequila with friends and “snorted” Percocet. He also did about three lines of cocaine. Brown Jr was one of three children between his father, Bobby Brown, and Kim Ward.
In a statement on his son’s death in Nov. 2020, Bobby Brown said of his son’s death to TMZ, “Please keep my family in your prayers at this time. Losing my son at this point in our lives has devastated my family. There are no words to explain the pain.”
An investigation?
TMZ reported that talked to sources within LA law enforcement about Bobby Brown Jr’s death. According to TMZ, it looks like LA County DA will be looking into possible charges in Brown’s death due to the drugs found in his system. Why? TMZ nor its sources would say. Just that charges are being considered (probably for whoever sold it to Brown Jr?) and it could be kicked back for further investigation.
Either way other outlets, like CNN and USA Today reported that Bobby Brown Jr’s death was an accident. Given the sort of drugs in his system in addition to his behavior leading up to his death, it sounds more like a tragic accidental overdose than a criminal case. Ultimately, if there are charges in his death, then we will let you know when we hear about them.
Tragedy
The death of Bobby Brown Jr is one in the latest of tragedies to have hit the Brown family. Everyone, of course, remembers the death of Bobby Brown’s ex-wife Whitney Houston back in 2012. She was found dead after drowning in a hotel room bathtub. According to the coroner, heart disease & cocaine were contributing factors in her death. Houston was 48 at the time of her passing.
Following this tragedy three years later, Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only child of Bobby Brown & Whitney Houston, was also found unresponsive in a bathtub. The 22-year-old lingered on for about six months following this before passing away at an Atlanta area hospice facility in July 2015. She was only 22 at the time of her own death and was buried next to her mother.
Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death was caused by drug intoxication & immersion which led to pneumonia & brain damage. Either way, it’s clear that the Brown family has had to deal with a lot of tragedy, especially in loss of two very young lives.
