One of the most relaxing things you can do is go for a walk, hit the gym, or even stay in and watch a movie. You need to unwind before stress takes over you and burns you out.
We came up with a list of must watch movies that you could watch to make your days (and nights) better! Check it out and let us know if you have any other recommendations.
Dead Poets Society (1989)
One of the most inspiring movies (especially for college students like you) is Dead Poets Society. Although is definitely not one of the new movies out there, it is a must watch. The movie stares an English teacher, John Keating (Robin Williams) teaching poetry in an unconventional class setting. His love for the arts and his interests in the English literature, along with his passion for educating young children, makes Keating one of the most loved professors at the school. He is funny, uncommon, and makes children question authority. Why should we study in the usual setting we’ve been raised in? Why should we engage with books rather than with people? Why shouldn’t we follow our passions and do exactly what we want in life? All these questions are debated upon within this wonderful, outstanding movie.
The Harry Potter Saga (2001-2011)
As many of you might already be familiar with Harry Potter, watching this Saga might give you a sense of relief from stress. Harry Potter movies are starring the magical adventures of three wizards, Harry, Ron & Hermione. The story is taking place mainly at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a school focused on teaching young wizards the secret art of wizardry. The first movie of the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone (2001) is starring Harry Potter as the main role and his adventures he goes through while discovering his magical powers. The content of the movie is funny, witty, and very relaxing!
Before Sunset (2004)
Another romantic drama and one of the must see movies, Before Sunset picks up the story of the beautiful meeting between Jesse and Celine, an American man and a French woman who meet for the first time in Vienna. Their love story is unique, as they choose to spend time together while traveling to the same city, only to fall in love and never want to leave. Will they ever meet again after splitting ways? Will they change their lives to stay together? What will it happen with these two travelers? This story is perfect to watch on a Sunday afternoon with your loved one!
Life is Beautiful (1997)
A quite sad yet historically enriched movie, Life is Beautiful is a comedy-drama narrating the story of the Jewish Italian Guido Orefice, as he is deported into a Nazi concentration camp alongside his young son, Giosue. Since his son is such a youngster, the man does not want to explain to him the tragic situation in which they are put in. Thus, he makes all their sad adventures in the camp seem like a game. The film has a sad note to it but will definitely make your heart skip a beat. If you want to relax, learn some history, cry, and have some fun while at it, Life is Beautiful is the movie for you.
Groundhog Day (1993)
Oldie but goldie and one of the great movies to watch, Groundhog Day is one of the most interesting movies in the 90s. Phil Connors, a TV weatherman is caught up in a time loop while covering the annual Groundhog Day event in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. As his day repeats over and over again, Phil learns important life lessons that teach him about love, compassion, and charity. From a relatively ignorant man, Phil becomes a real hero of our days. By escaping the time loop, he escapes the pain that comes with living an ignorant life.

There are many activities that you could engage in in order to relax but watching movies has always shown to be highly productive. However, make sure you are on top of your school before choosing to chill out. And once you do, get some popcorn, sodas, bring your friends/partner over, and have some great time while watching some of these inspirational movies.
