The Contractor is an American Action-Thriller movie (2022). Gillian Jacobs, Chris Pine, and Ben Foster are the main cast of The Contractor (2022). In a nod to the story that is a part of the plot The Contractor, Sergeant James Harper who was dismissed at his own will from his position in the US Army, risks everything to protect his family when he signs up for an unofficial organization in the form of an individual contractor.

Along with his best friend, and being commanded by a veteran, James decides to support his family by signing up with a private mercenary company. Harper is on a covert mission overseas must escape from the people who want his death on his return

Tariq Saleh sits in the chair as director of The Contractor, which will release on April 1st, 2022. It stars Chris Pine, Gillian Jacobs, Ben Foster, and Kiefer Sutherland. The film is based on James Harper, who, after being discharged without intention by The Marine Corps, joins a paramilitary group to help his family in the only way he can. Here’s what we know about The Contractor.

When is The Contractor release date?

The Contractor makes an official debut in theaters on Friday, April 1.

Those that have been following the movie closely will recall the project’s original release date was December 10, 2021. A date that would have pitted the movie against the now award-winning West Side Story and the Lucille Ball-inspired piece, Being the Ricardos. After The Contractor’s premiere was reset for March 18, the movie’s premiere was again postponed to its current official release date of April 1.

When The Contractor debuts, it will do so in a limited number of US theaters, while simultaneously being available across premium video-on-demand platforms. The movie is slated to arrive on Showtime and Paramount Plus later in the year.

The Contractor is slated for release in the United States on April 8, 2022. It will premiere Worldwide. There are plenty of ways you can watch this blockbuster online for free. Right now, the only place to watch The Contractor is in a movie theater when it opens on Friday, April 8. You can find a showing at a movie theater near you here. After the movie’s theatrical run, you will be able to purchase The Contractor on digital platforms like Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, and Vudu.

Is The Contractor on Disney+ or Hulu?

Yes, but you’ll have to put up with it. Earlier this year, Disney and Sony struck a deal to bring Spider-Man and other Sony films to Disney Plus after they were published on Netflix, beginning with Sony’s 2022 release schedule. Pay 2 windows, which begin 18 months after a film’s release in theaters, will be able to play Sony’s titles like The Contractor on Disney platforms. This means that The Contractor could be available on Disney streaming services as early as April 2022.

Is The Contractor on Amazon Prime?

Amazon Prime is not streaming The Contractor movies. However, the streamer has a wide range of latest movie collections for their viewers, including Train to Busan, The Raid: Redemption, Hell or High Water, The Florida Project, and Burning.

Is The Contractor on HBO Max?

No. The Contractor is a Paramount Pictures movie, not a Warner Bros. movie. Also, HBO Max will no longer be streaming theatrical movies in 2022. (Last year, Warner Bros. opted to simultaneously release its theatrical slate on streaming, meaning HBO Max subscribers could watch movies like Matrix Resurrections at home. This year, however, Warner Bros. theatrical movies will have a 45-day theaters-only run before moving to HBO Max.)

Is The Contractor on Netflix?

Not right now—but it will be someday. While you certainly won’t see The Contractor on Netflix before it releases on video-on-demand, last year Sony signed a deal to bring the studio’s 2022 film slate to Netflix during the “Pay 1 window,” which used to be 18-months after the film’s theatrical release, but could be even sooner, given that most theatrical windows have been reduced from 90 days to 45 days during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Still, it’s likely you will see The Contractor on Netflix in 2023. In other words, it may be a while before The Contractor is available to stream at home. If you’re dying to see Tom Holland jump off of cliffs, your best bet is to see The Contractor in theaters.

The Contractor cast

Once more, leading The Contractor cast is Chris Pine. Pine is not a novice to action sequences given his work in the Star Trek films, Wonder Woman, and Hell or High Water. Coincidentally, the latter movie was a project that The Contractor actor Ben Foster also starred in.

Joining the talent of Pine and Foster, is Jack Bauer himself, Kiefer Sutherland. April will turn out to be quite the month for Sutherland as he’s also set to debut in the Showtime series The First Lady as President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Other notable stars of the film include Gillian Jacobs (Community), Eddie Marsan (The World’s End), JD Pardo (Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn), and Florian Munteanu (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings).
