“Morbius” was pushed back to next year and currently has a release date of January 28, 2022. It’s not clear how long the film will be a theatrical exclusive, but there hasn’t been any announcement about a shortened release window just yet.
Morbius is an upcoming movie based on the Marvel comics character Morbius- The living vampire. Biochemist Dr. Michael Morbius suffers from a rare blood disease and tries to cure himself. However his experiment goes wrong, and he unintentionally infects himself with a form of vampirism. He gains superhuman abilities like a vampire without any weaknesses.
He is shown as a classic anti-hero similar to Venom, who feels considerable remorse for his evil actions, and does everything in his power to control and destroy his villainous side and do good. He even suffers from suicidal thoughts after he loses self-control and kills innocent people. He wars emotionally between his duties as a doctor and healer and his newfound blood lust.
The movie trailer shows his unusual speed, super strength, and vampire-Esque craving for blood. As a part of the Marvel franchise, the exciting movie will be sure to have some cool action scenes and is a must-watch for Marvel fans. The Marvel vampire Morbius the Living Vampire is getting his own movie in Morbius, starring Jared Leto. Morbius release date
Per Deadline, Morbius will arrive in theaters on April 1, 2022, having been pushed back from January 28. The outlet reports that Spider-Man: No Way Home’s continued success is contributing to this decision, as Sony doesn’t want to take away screens from the biggest movie of the last year.
And because it’s a Sony Pictures movie, it won’t be streaming anywhere at that date. Months after that date, though, expect Morbius to be on Netflix, thanks to a Sony/Netflix deal. And then about 18 months after that, Morbius will be on Disney Plus, thanks to (you guessed it) a Sony/Disney deal.

As mentioned above, the big news here is that Michael Keaton is back in the role of Adrian Toomes. Is this the same Toomes that was imprisoned in Spider-Man: Homecoming? Or one from another universe?

Morbius’ powers
Morbius sought a cure for his disease and was met with a swarm of bats. This has led to a peculiar set of skills. As listed in the trailer, Morbius has:

Then, the trailer showed us that this Morbius can also fly and turn into a vampiric form. In the comics, Morbius also has night vision and accelerated healing.
Morbius Plot
The teaser seems like the film will offer a dark twist on the superhero genre. In the teaser, we meet Michael Morbius (Leto) as he tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease by experimenting with bat DNA, which changes him into his vampire-like appearance. During a Variety Actor on Actors interview, Leto discussed the character and how he found the role tricky owing to parallels he discovered with the character.
“I was drawn to this part because he goes on this path from dying to discovering a treatment for this sickness and being wonderfully healthy, only to have things alter in such a manner that he becomes hideous,” Leto added. “So it’s a Jekyll and Hyde situation, which is a great part.”
He said, ” “In some ways, it was difficult for me because I’m not accustomed to portraying characters that are a little closer to who I am daily. Dr. Michael Morbius is a bit more like me in terms of speech and behavior.”
Morbius Villain
Loxias Crown’s origin is a bit of a mystery in superhero comics; therefore, not much is known. He first appeared in “Spider-Man” #76 in 1996 and was created by Howard Mackie. Crown joined the nefarious organization Hydra after becoming a prodigy who might also be regarded as a crazy scientist. Crown and Morbius both had a unique blood ailment, but instead of attempting to find a solution for himself, Crown experimented on a live vampire. In the process, he evolved into Hunger, a creature with a lot of the same skills as him.
The title character’s portrayal in “Morbius” will be fascinating to see. Considering he’s not going up against Spider-Man and will instead be facing up against someone a lot more terrible than he is, it seems fair to conclude Leto’s character will be at least somewhat heroic. Sony seems to have enormous ambitions for Spider-rogues’ Man’s gallery, yet getting them to the big screen without the web-slinger himself can’t be simple.

Daniel Espinosa served as the director of Morbius. The Swedish filmmaker got his start in Hollywood by directing the 2012 Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds thriller Safe House, followed up by the Tom Hardy-led Child 44 and the sci-fi movie Life, which starred Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Rebecca Ferguson.
