Sony’s upcoming Morbius is set to arrive in theaters on April 1, 2022, but the perfect release date for the vampire-based Marvel movie would be later in the year.
In Morbius, Jared Leto portrays geneticist Michael Morbius, afflicted with a rare blood disease that he’s determined to find a cure for. With vampire bats as part of the equation, Morbius finds himself not only cured of his disease but possessing the superhuman abilities of a vampire. Despite the potential of Morbius as a comic book movie with horror elements.
Morbius, being centered on a character with the moniker of “The Living Vampire” and having connections to Blade, would have found equal serendipity with an October release date. Indeed, Morbius would arguably have benefited more than any of Sony’s Marvel films by capitalizing on the Halloween season.

Will Morbius Be On Disney+ Or Hulu?

Morbius Storyline
Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) is a biochemist who is desperately trying to cure himself of a dangerous, rare blood disease. In addition to healing, the goal is to be able to help other people who suffer from similar diseases.
Through various experiments, Morbius finally decided to undergo radical treatment, by using vampire bat DNA and electroshock therapy. Though the treatment made him suffer from severe side effects, both physically and mentally.
Initially, the treatment seemed successful as Morbius gained strength, speed, and reflexes through the bat DNA that entered his body. But without realizing it, over time Morbius began to change, both in his appearance with a pale face and scary fangs, as well as bloodlust.
Morbius is trying to control the side effects of his medication. But things get worse after Milo (Matt Smith), a colleague who suffers from a similar disease, appears with similar conditions and powers and uses them for his own benefit.
What To Expect In Morbius Movie
The movie is about a brilliant scientist who is trying to cure an illness he had all his life. The illness itself happed to be very rare and people who have it rarely make it past their childhood. But Morbius did which makes him realize he was put on this earth to cure this disease.
Since he himself was running out of time he decides to try something extreme. He lets himself be infected by vampire bats. This highly immoral and illegal act did cure his illness. And as an additional bonus grants him an arsenal of superpowers. He develops all the traditional powers associated with vampirism but none of its limitations. As no good deed goes unpunished he is now cursed with the urge to Hunt, Kill and Consume Human Blood. The movie showcases Morbius coming to terms with his condition while managing his thirst for Blood.
‘Morbius’ director
Daniel Espinosa served as the director of Morbius. The Swedish filmmaker got his start in Hollywood by directing the 2012 Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds thriller Safe House, followed up by the Tom Hardy-led Child 44 and the sci-fi movie Life, which starred Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Rebecca Ferguson.
With the divisions between Sony and Marvel universes, we’ll have to see if this is the same or a different version of Toomes, but Keaton’s appearance in Morbius is part of Sony’s continued push to create a connection between all these movies.
