Missing ‘The Office’ on Netflix? Here’s everywhere you can stream it
Ah, The Office. The comedy about hijinks at a crazy administrative office of a Pennsylvanian paper company had us all glued to the TV when the show aired every week. It’s hard to miss all the pranks & jokes that its characters schemed & told through the sitcom’s nine seasons.
Even after its end in 2013, the show still has diehard fans who never miss the opportunity to watch the episodes again & again on streaming platforms. For quite some time, Netflix was the go-to app to watch The Office. Well . . . it really was. This past January, NBC’s parent company Comcast has decided to launch its own streaming service Peacock, transferring all their content into the platform.
As a result, many of NBC’s shows have been pulled out from competitors such as Netflix, reducing the options for viewers. But there is some good news: The Office is still available on streaming platforms, but only on NBC’s Peacock service. Since there’s no more The Office on Netflix, let’s check out where you can watch all the “that’s what she said” jokes again.
Peacock
Ok, let’s start with the platform that many fans were not happy about: Peacock. There are three subscription plans that come on that app: Peacock (free, with limited access), Peacock Premium ($4.99/month,with full access), and Peacock Premium Plus ($9.99/month, with full access and no ads).
The good news is that The Office can be watched from all packages. But the bad news is that the free package only enables you to watch seasons 1 & 2, plus bloopers and extra materials. If you want the whole thing, all nine seasons plus tons of extra content, you would have to get either the Premium or the Premium Plus packages.
Definitely worth the investment if you’re eager to watch the secret relationships and the corporate shuffles that make you laugh out loud when you see them. But, if you don’t want to get Peacock, there are other ways.
Buy the show online
If you don’t want to get a Peacock monthly subscription, you can purchase all the nine seasons via different video streaming services. You can check it out on Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, Google Play, and iTunes that normally sell those shows there.
As an example, Amazon Prime Video offers the first season for $11.99, and each one of the other eight seasons for $17.99 each. Vudu offers season one for $9.99, and all the others for $11.99 each, and Google Play offers season one also for $9.99 and the other ones for $29.99 each.
If you choose to get The Office this way, you can watch it anytime and anywhere you want, even when there is no internet connection available (make sure to download the episodes first). But beware of the fact that those episodes could become unavailable for ‘licensing reasons’ or other things. Let’s hope The Office doesn’t.
Watch it on TV or DVD
We know these won’t sound good with Gen Z folks, but a good way to watch the show while saving money is to watch reruns on different TV channels. If you have services like YouTube TV , Sling, or Hulu TV, or the traditional cable or satellite, you can rest assured – The Office has reruns all the time. And in different networks, from a local channel to Comedy Central.
But if you are old-fashioned, you can buy all seasons of The Office in DVD or Blu-Ray. Amazon is offering the whole series on DVD for $47.99 and on Blu-Ray for $106.03. You also have the option of getting each season separately, so, no matter how you get The Office, you can sure laugh a lot with that insane place.
