Brooklyn Nine Nine

'Brooklyn Nine Nine' season 6 promises more action, bigger laughs, and the unfortunate departure of cast favorite Chelsea Peretti’s Gina Linetti.Network: NBC

Season Premiere: January 10, 2019

NYPD sitcom from Parks and Recreation alums Michael Schur and Dan Goor, featuring Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, and a team of eccentric police officers. This season promises more action, bigger laughs, and the unfortunate departure of cast favorite Chelsea Peretti’s Gina Linetti. Brooklyn Nine Nine, along with The Expanse and Lucifer, was the show that finally proved to networks that fans have a voice capable of making a huge difference. Unceremoniously cancelled for a hot second by Fox during their annual ritual of callous schedule cuts, NBC thankfully heard the tremendous uproar, realized Fox had made a terrible mistake, and gratefully absorbed the show for themselves. Like The Office and Parks and Recreation before it, Michael Schur’s sharp eye for characters, topical humor, and compelling season arcs remains on point. The casting is pitch-perfect, creating iconic TV personalities to rival the likes of Ron Swanson and Dwight Schrute, and the last five seasons have featured some of the best finales and openings of any show in recent memory. Season 6 will feature a slight downgrade to 18 episodes, and Chelsea Peretti will be sorely missed, but we have no doubt that NBC will pick up where we left off and do the show’s unrivalled quality justice for the upcoming season.
