TOP-RANKED HEAVYWEIGHT CONTENDERS COLLIDE! Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to London, England, on July 22, 2023, for the second United Kingdom event of the year. The O2 plays host once again as No. 5-ranked Heavyweight hometown hero, Tom Aspinall, takes on No. 10-seeded Marcin Tybura. In UFC London’s co-main event, Liverpool’s own Molly McCann will face off against Lithuanian Julija Stoliarenko in an intriguing.
It’s been a year since Aspinall headlined the UFC’s last trip to London, but that fight with Curtis Blaydes, unfortunately, ended in just 15 seconds when the 30-year-old injured his knee. Now healthy and eager to resume his rise up the heavyweight ladder, Aspinall will defend his #5 spot against the #10-ranked Marcin Tybura.
Fan favorite Molly McCann will try to rebound from a first-round loss to Erin Blanchfield when she meets Julija Stoliarenko in the night’s co-main event. “Meatball” had won three fights in a row prior to her last outing at UFC 281, and now McCann has a chance to get back into the win column against a fighter that’s still searching for her second UFC victory.
The main card also includes an intriguing featherweight bout between Nathanial Wood and Andre Fili, as well as Paul Craig’s middleweight debut against Andre Muniz.
The rest of the event features more than a few UFC debuts and several fighters looking to preserve their undefeated records, plus the usual array of European talent that fans have come to expect from the UFC’s trips across the pond.
All fighters scheduled to compete at UFC London successfully made weight ahead of the event. The preliminary card is set to kick off at 12:00 p.m. ET and the main card will start at 3:00 p.m. with both portions of the event airing on ESPN+.
